My triumphant return!!!
So much to do, so little time to do it
Sorry for the extended hiatus, but I’m back. So much has happened in the past 5 weeks, I do not even know where to start. I am having a tough time deciding what topic to cover so I’ll just briefly explain my opinion on the important ones.
- PelosiCare passes the House -
First things first. Many Representatives have already said that the pro-life amendment will be taken out if it ever gets through the Senate. The only reason why Pelosi allowed it to be included is so she could win a few more votes and get it passed. Either way, it is dead in the Senate, so the House passage is a moot point, along with all the lies about it being deficit neutral. It has been proven that it is going to cut Medicare services, not costs. If hospitals and doctors lose money from Medicare patients, then they will either stop accepting Medicare or go out of business themselves. The bill will also increase costs by $289 billion in the next decade. The cost of this debacle changes more than the average person changes socks. It is pegged at from $900 billion over a decade to $3 trillion. I believe it is closer to $1.5 trillion. The second decade will be over $3 trillion. If other government programs are any indication, just take Pelosi’s number of $900 billion and multiply it by 9 and that will be the real number. There are so many things wrong with the healthcare debate that I will have to wait for a future date to cover them all, so stay tuned.
- KSM being tried in NYC criminal court -
This is one of the most insane actions that the Obama administration has done so far. Not only, do we have a history of trying war criminals in military tribunals dating back over two centuries, but the implications of trying a criminal in open court without his Miranda rights ever being read to him is a recipe for disaster. His case could be thrown out, but not after state intel getting put out in the public domain for al-Qaeda to determine who is working with us and who in their organization has been compromised. Sounds like a lose-lose situation to me, but then again, I’m not an ACLU lawyer either.
- President Obama bows to Japanese emperor -
Being an U.S. Army war veteran, it really pisses me off to see the Commander-In-Chief bow to anybody. He is the leader of the free world and the most powerful man in the entire world, yet he continually submits to foreign royalty. This shows complete disrespect for the Office of the President of the United States of America and all American citizens, liberal, conservative, black, white, brown, right and left. It does not matter who you are, Obama just disrespected you. So far, I have not heard the lame-stream media spin this like they did when he bowed to the Saudi king which is surprising since it happened over the weekend. Not only bowing to royalty, but also shaking his hand at the same time is against Japanese customs, which not only shows that he has a total lack of respect for the citizens of the country he represents, but he has a total lack of protocol with heads of state, as was demonstrated when Michelle Obama placed her hand on the Queen of England. I thought these people were college educated. What college did they graduate from, Sesame Street?
- ACORN files a lawsuit against Congress -
What a surprise!! They are playing the victim card to get our money. No company is entitled to receive taxpayer funds, end of story. If they were an honest organization that obeyed the laws of the land, then their funding would not have been pulled. They need to get off the corporate welfare. I also heard that the funding cut would not have an adverse effect on them. Looks like they have the same accountants as the Obama administration when it comes to future economic developments.
- Dollar falls, everything else rises -
Gold peaked at $1,133.20 an ounce. I’m wondering if the Obama administration realizes what that means. I don’t think they are paying attention to it, unless they are doing it on purpose. Maybe Turbo Tax Tim Geithner has a lot of money in gold investments.
- Stimulus numbers getting fudged in state after state -
Many states reporting that the job numbers that Obama is reporting from stimulus spending, are wildly exaggerated. Now, 28% of states are reporting that the numbers don’t add up. What’s going to happen when that number goes over 50%? We should be there within two weeks at the current pace. What’s amazing is that many of these states are inherently blue states and they can’t figure out how to cover the numbers to make Obama look good. The stimulus numbers must be messed up beyond belief and does not make Joe Biden look very competent. What exactly is he doing anyway?
- Random SEIU news -
From Allentown, PA, looks like Nick Balzano, president of the local SEIU, is going head to head with a 17 year old Eagle Scout because he’s volunteering to clear a path for a nature trail instead of hiring union members to perform the work. Besides the obvious hypocrisy of Obama’s desire for everybody to volunteer in their community and the President being in SEIU’s back pocket, what exactly is going on here? Looks like Chicago thug-like politics to me. Is SEIU’s president, Andy Sterns, a lobbyist or not? He repeats on his Twitter page that he is, but he is not a registered lobbyist with the government. He’s also been in the White House 22 times since Obama took office. Could those times be counted as lobbying time also? I seem to remember Obama pledging during the campaign that there would be no lobbyists in his administration. Sounds like yet another broken campaign promise to me.
- Al Gore climate change speech in Boca Raton -
Your humble correspondent was lucky enough to attend the rally at Mizner Park. There were approximately 200 protesters and 800 attendees that paid between $50 to $350 to go inside. Judging from this video at 40 seconds, it seems like Al Gore himself heard us. Everybody knows that Al Gore’s company owns the software that will be used to trade “carbon credits” which is a made up “funny money”. He will get paid on every single trade similar to how a stock broker gets paid for every stock trade. The major difference, the stock broker isn’t trying to pass laws so he can make more money. Al’s hypocrisy knows no bounds as he chastises citizens about driving SUV’s while he flies around on a Gulfstream 5, continues to eat meat, and has an oversized house that is much to big for just him and his wife. I’m not against Al Gore making millions of dollars, but trying to do it through legislation when he is a former Vice President is immoral and an abomination of true capitalism.
